4 Encouraging Resources

In addition to reading my Study Bible, I try to be intentional to take in extra solid, Christian content that will help spur me on in my learning and growth journey as a follower of Jesus Christ. I haven’t always had the desire to go deeper, but over the past few years God has put it heavy on my heart to stretch my mind and strengthen my worldview as a Christian. I mainly do this through reading books, listening to podcasts and watching videos led by really smart Christian leaders! These things do not substitute my alone time with God through prayer and Scripture, but they are just additional resources that I follow for fun and learning.

Here are 4 recent resources I consistently follow that continue to help me to think and go deeper!

1- Devotionals:

Paul Tripp Wednesday’s Word Devotional

This is an email you will receive every Wednesday that has Scripture to read, followed by a devotional that will help you think and process how to better live for Jesus!

2- Apologetics:

Dr. Sean McDowell’s YouTube Channel

Dr. McDowell is an Apologetics Professor at Biola University, Talbot School of Theology. In his videos, he has the most fascinating interviews with people around the world that are writing books and researching some of the most fascinating topics in Christianity! He also has conversations with skeptics and atheists, which has helped challenge me in tough conversations with people.

3- Thinking and Living Biblically:

Mike Winger’s YouTube Channel

Mike Winger is a pastor in Southern California who puts out content every single week about various books of the Bible, how to live as a Christian in this difficult age, and also how to ‘Think Biblically’ about everything we say and do. I also really enjoy his Friday Q&A videos, where he takes some really tough questions about Christianity and gives thoughtful, Biblical answers!

4- Understanding the Bible:

The Bible Project Podcast, Videos and Resources

I LOVE the Bible Project. They make creative videos about the Bible that help you understand things better in their context. They also have an excellent podcast and send out weekly Bible Reading plans and devotionals as well. It’s probably the most helpful Bible resources I’ve used!

If you would like to go deeper in your Christian studies and learning, but don’t know where to begin, check out some of these resources! They have and continue to bless me and I know they will do the same for you. Feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions about them.
