About Me

My name is Matthew Weaver and I’m originally from Georgia, spent some time in South Carolina and have now been in Southeast Louisiana since 2014. I have been married to my wife Emily since April of 2017, and we live in Harahan, LA with our son Camden.

After graduating high school in Fayetteville, GA, I went to Shorter College in Rome, GA for two years and then transferred to Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA to pursue a communications degree. During my time at GC&SU, I began to get ministry experience by serving in youth and college ministry. I knew since I was saved as a kid that I loved Jesus and I loved people. God blended those two things together during my late college years and led me to vocational ministry. After graduating college, I then served in a College & Young Adult Ministry at FBC Spartanburg, SC.

Two years later, I moved to New Orleans, LA to pursue my Masters of Divinity degree at NOBTS. I graduated seminary in December of 2016, got married to Emily in April of 2017 and was ordained as a pastor in December of 2017.

Since then, I have served on the pastoral team at Vintage Church NOLA. I also teach a high school Bible class at John Curtis Christian School and have served in other ministries doing preaching at churches and student ministry events, writing for the Lifeway Mens Devotional and YM360 and pastors coaching.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, drinking good coffee on my front porch, reading, being outdoors, hanging in my yard, fishing and playing golf!
