About Me

Thanks for visiting my blog page! If you would like to stay updated on my blog posts, please subscribe to my blog. I hope my page encourages you!

My name is Matthew Weaver and I am a Christ follower, husband & pastor. I’m originally from Georgia, spent some time in South Carolina and have now been in Louisiana since 2014. My family is in Georgia and the Carolina’s. I married into a South-East Louisiana family when I married my amazing wife Emily in April of 2017! We live in Metairie, LA.

MY STORY-

After graduating high school in Fayetteville, GA, I went to Shorter College in Rome, GA for two years and then transferred to Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA to pursue a Communications degree. I surrendered to ministry during my early years of college. During my time at GC&SU, I began to help lead the BCM on campus, volunteered in a youth ministry and worked as a camp counselor in the summers with FUGE camps. After college, God opened a door for me to serve in a College & Young Adult Ministry at First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC.

Two years later, I moved to New Orleans, LA to pursue my Masters of Divinity degree at NOBTS. I graduated seminary in December of 2016, got married in April of 2017 and was ordained as a pastor in December of 2017.

Since then, I have served in various roles at Vintage Church NOLA and now serve as the Ministries Pastor. I also serve as one of the Camp Pastors for Mission Lab at NOBTS, where I get to encourage youth groups that come to serve New Orleans and preach at worship services on campus. I also enjoy getting to travel some to speak and encourage other ministries. I’ve had the opportunity to preach at various churches and student ministry events, mostly in the South East (check out this page to see more). I’m passionate about the local church, preaching God’s Word to all ages, leadership, connecting people into the Kingdom and reaching others with the good news of the Gospel.

I’m a pretty simple guy! I enjoy being with my wife, family and friends, relaxing at coffee shops with a good cup of coffee, blogging, exploring the outdoors, fishing, taking road trips and being on the golf course.
