The Blog is BACK- What a Journey!

Psalm 37:23-24

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.

My last blog post was on March 13, 2015. Part of the reasoning for this is the busyness of life with being a seminary student. My brain couldn’t take any more writing or reading. But now, the Lord has graciously placed me on the other side of that season and I can enjoy writing again for personal therapy and encouraging others! Writing helps me process things and also look back on the faithfulness of the Lord.

On March 13, 2015, I wrote a blog titled “In His Grip”. You can find it on my previous blog post page. My purpose for writing this blog was to encourage other Christians through the pressures of life and the struggle that we have with sin, and even to encourage those exploring the faith to consider the security that they can have in Christ Jesus. Though life will have up’s and down’s, high’s and low’s, we can remain In His Grip. There have been so many big things that have happened in my life since that last blog post. It’s incredible to see how that post also relates to my life right now, even through all the changes. Thank the Lord that he never changes.

On April 8th of this year, in exactly one month from today, I will be marrying the most amazing lady for me. I could not have brought these circumstances together on my own and I could not have imagined what the Lord had in store, because only he could allow me the opportunity to pursue Emily almost two years ago, and I am thankful for that.

When looking into the unknown of the future, I experience a combination of both excitement and fear. The passage that I chose above speaks of this process of life. The Psalmist speaks of the victories and struggles of life. The Lord walks with us through life, though our struggles and through our victories. Sometimes we will stand and sometimes we will fall, but the Lord is there.

As I come very close to transitioning into this season of life, knowing that things will begin to change very quickly, I find great comfort and excitement to know that my and our steps are established by the Lord and that he will uphold Emily and I. This is a truth that I must remind myself of weekly and daily.

We would covet your prayers, support and encouragement during this time! I am so excited to begin to blog again, and I may even get lucky enough for Emily to join me in some writing soon. Ha!
