Let it SNEAUX!

It’s been an historic week along the Gulf Coast. We experienced tons of snow like almost never before! Where I live in SE Louisiana near the Mississippi River, there was almost a foot of snow in some areas.

The community took full advantage of this and had tons of fun! Although he wasn’t sure what he thought of it (haha), my son saw snow for the first time! We made a snowman, walked around, and I even sled down the levee by the river.

As I reflect on this week, and how beautiful it has been, I can’t help but to think of John 1:5–

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The reason I thought of this, is because there are times, where the darkness seems overwhelming. Tragedies and devastations are very apparent in this broken world that we live in, and will continue to be until Jesus returns. Yet, although the darkness is heavy, the light is greater! The light always outshines and overcomes the darkness.

The snow has been a reminder of light. As people gathered around this event, put their differences aside, and took in the beauty of the scenery, there was a sense of peace and calmness that settled. It’s as if the Lord was sending a visible reminder that there is still good and beautty in the world because of Him and He has not forsaken us. He has a plan and is in control. This goodness and light only comes from Jesus. Even in our darkest days, Jesus is our light.

Thank you Lord, for this beautiful reminder and experience!
